United Nations have two main offices – New York and Geneva office. Fantastic weather and a day longer weekend allowed me yesterday to visit UNO Geneva. Great experience!
Of course, visiting of this complex is allowed only in guided tours. So, I do apologize in advance for the quality of some of the pictures – at several points we were literally running after our guide.
At the very entrance – high level of security measures – and big info screen. We had to make pictures (a big smile for web cam) and in an instant we got badges with ID number, which were used for identification during this restricted tour on UNO ground.
Hallo! Welcome to the UNO! The hall with conference rooms in the new building.
Every conference room has info screen with basic info about the conference taking place in it, or the theme that particular board is covering.
This is one of the 8 conference rooms in the complex, with capacity of 800 diplomats (and their assistants of first and second level) who actively contribute in the conference.
The whole building is equipped with huge info screens, so you can hardly get lost, even if you work on that.
General assembly hall – 2000 diplomats can be placed in it during the annual convention. According to the guide, great place for Christmas party, because of its acoustics.
And, for the end, “The Human Rights and Alliance of Civilizations Room”, opened for visitors last month.
Or colloquial Spanish room, since it is a gift to UNO from Spanish government.
